Nations Team Breakfasts

Nations Team Breakfasts

Here at The Oak Church something special happens each month, that brings together people from around the globe – the Nations Team breakfasts.

It's not just about the food though the aroma of fresh coffee and pastries certainly adds to the experience. It's about coming together as friends and family, sharing stories, and praying for the nations represented within our community.

It’s an easy going start to a Sunday morning where we gather before church to eat, pray, and just enjoy the company of one another. Whether it's hearing about life in India, stories from Ghana, or learning about the traditions of Japan, each breakfast offers a glimpse into people's passion for another nation.

A key element of gathering is a spirit of inclusivity and hospitality. We welcome not only those who are from other nations but those who may feel a call to go to, or have a heart for, different cultures.

The elements of getting together, eating together, and being together brings a little collective culture that is often missed and pined for by members of the group from other countries.

A couple of weeks back, we gathered at Kjee’s and Ife’s house where we prayed for their new twins, sat on the floor, had food, sang and prayed together - it was really special. We also prayed for visa situations, which have now, thankfully, been resolved for a family.

One of the highlights of our calendar is the upcoming Nations Celebration for Africa on May 12th. It's an invitation for everyone to join us as we honour the vibrant cultures, traditions, foods and pray for African nations. Expect lively music, tasty dishes, and some insights from our wonderful African friends.

If you love learning about other cultures, or have a heart for another nation, we’d love to welcome you to our Nations Outreach Team - simply contact will@theoakchurch.co.uk to learn more.
