There is a big lie…  ....and there is love!

When I read the bible I am frequently struck by the fact that God loves the poorest of people. The marginalised, the widows, the criminals, the orphans, the dying, the outcasts, the oppressed, the sick, the lonely, He sees them as equal to the richest and most powerful people in society. And these are the people who love Him, they talk to Him without inhibition, they are aware of their need for Him, they identify with Him and understand His heart in a way that the rich and privileged are unable to.

There is a big lie in circulation throughout the world today that some people are more important than others. More value is placed on people who have worked their way out of difficult situations or who have attained power, influence, fame and fortune, material possessions or aspirational careers.

The enemy loves this lie because He loves to bring accusation and division, but it is a lie that was defeated at the cross. When the creator of the entire world gave His life for ours He destroyed every value system going. The one who flung stars into space, who has measured the oceans, who owns the mountains and the valleys gave His life in service and payment for us. The value that Jesus spoke over the people He had created as He hung on the cross was immeasurable. He has declared what a human life is worth to Him and it is more than the richest man in the world can pay.

As a church we are privileged to minister to people from all backgrounds and walks of life, our community is becoming richer by the day as you pour out your lives, sharing God's love and grace with the people you encounter.

We need you to join with us in praying for those who are meeting Jesus in the darkest of places, for the addicted, abused, hurting and lonely people who are receiving beauty for ashes and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.

Please pray for their freedom, please pray for wisdom and protection for them and for those who are journeying with them, please pray for courage and boldness to join our gatherings and communities, please pray for provision, for healing, for whatever God leads you to pray. Please speak scripture over the lost who are on our doorstep and pray for workers to join us because the harvest is ripe and ready.

I pray that as you kneel before the Father, your hearts would be opened "to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." Ephesisan 3:14.
