What we do:
Sunday Gatherings

Sunday Gatherings

The Oak Church gathers together every Sunday at 10:15am for tea, coffee and cakes before worship begins at 10.30am. We gather at The Oak, 54 Bradford Road, Stanningley, Leeds, LS28 6EF or online via our live streamWe can’t wait to welcome you with a warm brew, a friendly smile and maybe one of the famous homemade cakes that are available every week!

We love making our services a place for the whole family to be together, to worship together and to learn together. Everyone is welcome!

Our gathering starts with a time of sung worship (where the song words will be available on the screen, along with Makaton signing most Sundays), followed by some news. We'll then multiply; those wanting to listen to the talk will stay upstairs, while those joining our engaging kids or youth work will head to one of the rooms downstairs.

The Nest

In The Nest our children aged 0-3 gather with their parents and carers to learn about God. We sing songs, make crafts, play games and read stories together.

Treehouse

Treehouse is the fun-filled, engaging and inspiring children’s work, for all children in Preschool to Year 5. Our children's workers are all volunteers, are part of The Oak, are safety checked, and are hugely passionate about seeing our children grow in their understanding and love for Jesus. At The Oak Church, we believe that God loves every one of all ages and that He is ready to have a relationship with even the youngest of us. We encourage families to pursue God together and to enjoy worshipping Him as one.

Oak Youth

Our teenagers gather together on Sunday mornings to learn and hang out together. A team of committed youth workers aim to help our young people thrive in the schools and colleges they spend most of their week in, growing in their relationship with God.

Breaking Bread (Communion)

We break bread together once a month at our Sunday Gatherings. This is the eating of bread (we use gluten-free bread) and drinking of wine (we use cranberry juice) in celebratory remembrance of the death and resurrection of Jesus. We love this time of forgiveness and unity in the church.

We ask that those who are taking communion do so with reverence and an awareness of the new life they have received through Jesus. We would ask that parents take responsibility for knowing whether their children have made a decision to follow Jesus, received His forgiveness and are walking with Him in order to take part in receiving communion and help their children take communion reverently and joyfully.

Parking

Parking is available in our onsite parking or on the street nearby. We do ask, however, that you do not park in the car park opposite the building (The Tattoo and Hair Dressers).

Safeguarding at The Oak

We take Safeguarding very seriously at The Oak. Our Safeguarding Lead is Elea Derry, our deputy Safeguarding Leads are Dan Kingsley and Lucy Munton, and our DBS Lead Recruiter is Emily Jones

Our Safeguarding Policy is available here with a parent-friendly version found here.

If you have any safeguarding concerns, our Safeguarding Disclosure Form can be found here.
