Hi. We hope you enjoy catching up!

Welcome and thank you for joining us. If this is your first time at The Oak, hello, we hope you enjoy our time together today.

Our plan today is to start by worshiping together with one of our worship leaders (song words will be on-screen). After that, there'll be a time of prayer and news, followed by a short talk.

There are materials on this page for our 0-3's (The Nest), Preschool to Year 6 (Treehouse) and Year 7+ (Oak Youth) to help the whole family grow together.

Happy Sunday, see you at 10.30am!

The NestGod Made Me Week 11
0-3's

After our mini series for Easter we are now coming back to our God Made Me topic. We are learning about how God created us and how we have amazing bodies that can do so many things. This week we will be learning about our sense of smell.

Verse ‘I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.’ Psalm 139v14

Book God knows all about me by Claire Page and God loves little me by Rebecca Elliott (see links here). Tamsin, one of our Nest team, and two very special helpers have also recorded a brilliant video of one of this term’s books using Makaton signs (see the video here).

Songs Deep, deep, deep - Jesus loves me - Great big God - Guess what, God loves you - Jump around (see the videos here) - God made my head, shoulders, knees and toes (lyrics below, sing the first line however you’d like to and then into the normal tune).

God made my…Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes. Head, shoulders, knees and toes. knees and toes. And eyes and ears and mouth and nose. Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes.

Activity 1 Talk about how God made our sense of smell. Then play ‘can you guess the smell’ game? Put different items in boxes and let your child smell without looking to see if they can guess what they are. For example: peeled orange, ripe banana, cheesy crisps, fresh bread etc.

Activity 2 Use fresh herbs and a little water to let your child make ‘perfume’ in various size pots/bowls, using spoons, funnels etc. Talk to your child about how it smells and remind them that God made us able to smell.

TreehouseLife of Jesus - Miracles: Water into Wine
Preschool - Year 6

Before we head back to the Fruit of the Spirit we are going to dip into a new series for 2 weeks looking at a couple of stories which tell us something about Jesus and his life.

New Series - Life of Jesus - Miracles.

Today we will look at - Water into wine! This was the first miracle that Jesus did!

GAME:  This game could be in the garden, or in the house. Can you get some containers? Fill them with water (then add juice to make it look like wine) at one end, and at the other end leave them empty. Your job is to transfer the liquid from one set of containers to the other without spilling any. You could use straws, a plastic cup or even your hands .... the aim is to move the liquid from the full container to the empy one, competing against each other and having fun.

Read: John 2 : 1- 11

Check out the video - the format is slightly different without crafts, but there is more opportunity to sit and discuss what the story tells us about Jesus and about who he is.

Reflection: Can you think of something that God has provided for you today? Can you take some time to write it down?

Memory Verse

My God shall supply all your needs. Philippians 4:19

Activities:

Get a square or rectangle of silver foil. Can you make it into a cup or glass shape? (Top Tip - Roll it into a tube and twist one end to make the stalk of the glass flattening out the bit at the bottom so it can stand.) Can you come up with an unusual design? See if it will hold any liquid.

Write down on post it notes, or slips of paper all the things that God has provided for you. Take some material and place them all on top. Let everyone hold an edge of the sheet and wave it up and down, letting the paper fly into the air and back down as you shout out, “Thank you for providing for us!”.

Pray:

Jesus as we learn more about you, we pray that you will reveal who you are to us today. We ask you to come and speak to us and lead us. Amen
