18th July 2021View past Sundays

Bookings have now closed to join us in person at our building for 18th July 2021.

If you'd like to join for next week please check here from Monday morning, or email for more information. We'd love to see you!

Hi. We hope you enjoy catching up!

Welcome and thank you for joining us. If this is your first time at The Oak, hello, we hope you enjoy our time together today. Today also marks the day that we will be sending Chris, Lisa and the team to start Grace City Church Bradford - a new church! We'll be praying for the team as they follow God's calling to serve the city of Bradford.

Our plan today is to start by worshipping together (song words will be on-screen). After that, there'll be a time of prayer and news, followed by a short talk.

There are materials on this page for our 0-3's (The Nest), Preschool to Year 6 (Treehouse) and Year 7+ (Oak Youth) to help the whole family grow together.

Happy Sunday, see you at 10.30am!

You can also catch up to all our talks via our podcast here.

COVID restrictions lifting: Sundays at The Oak moving forward

We'll be sending out an email this week with further information, but in light of Government restrictions being lifted, we'll be starting to slowly make changes to how we do things on Sundays.

We want to be very aware of everybody, and fully recognise that everyone is responding differently to the lifting of the restrictions. We want to care for and respect each other in how we gather and connect as a church during this next season.

We'll be keeping the marquee live stream going throughout the summer so that those who'd prefer to remain outside can. Inside we'll be encouraging space where possible (although if you'd like to sit with others you are welcome to move a chair), and we'll be encouraging masks to be worn when moving around! We are also able to start singing together inside which is great news, especially for after the talk when we are inside rather than in the marquee. Although please wear your mask when singing!

Treehouse will remain in the marquee over the summer, when our Treehouse team will be taking a break (songs and content will still be provided on the TV), but our hope is to transition back to 'normal' kids work from September.

Finally - we are no longer required to take bookings - one less thing to think about on your Saturday evening!

Staycation - SAVE THE DATE

We hope to have a Staycation later in the year on the 16th October. Please put the date in your diary!

The NestParables Week 3
0-3's

We are currently learning about some of the stories that Jesus told. We can read about these in the Bible and they each show us how much God loves us and how we can be more like Him.

Verse ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love.’ Jeremiah 31v3

Book The story this week is ‘The House on the Rock’ from Stories Jesus Told by Nick Butterworth and Mick Inkpen (see link here). If you don’t have a copy of this book then have a look at this video of the story (see the video here) or have a look in your Bible at Matthew 7v24-27.

Songs God's love is big - Guess what, God loves you - When I look - The wise man built his house (see the videos here).

Activity House building. If you have some sand build some ‘houses’ in it, show your child if you build a house on the sand, it is easy to knock over (there are lots of recipes online for making your own sand at home if you don’t have any).

Then after this build some ‘houses’ on a firm foundation, this could be with duplo, lego, wooden blocks etc. Show your child how these houses are much harder to knock over.

As you build remind your child that Jesus says ‘I am like the wise man’s rock, if you trust in me, I will never let you down’.

TreehouseBig Questions - What is it like to have a friend in Jesus?
Preschool - Year 6

Who is your best friend?

Why are they your friend?

Did you know Jesus wants to be your friend?

We are going to hear a story about one of Jesus’ friends - Peter. He was in Prison and Jesus came to help him.

Worship:

Jesus you're my Superhero

I am yours

Breaking through

Crafts:

Can you make your own set of hand cuffs, or chains to remind you of what happened to Peter in the story - you can do this by making paper chains out of strips of paper and glue – Jesus sent an angel to get Peter out of jail and set him free. How cool is that?

Why not share what you've been up to on the Treehouse Parents Facebook Group?

Oak YouthOak Youth
Year 7+

Wow, we've made it, the holidays are here!

This week will be our last Oak Youth before we break for the holidays. We will be taking full advantage of this sunny weather and heading to West Royd park for a water fight. We'll meet at church 7pm and be back for 8:30pm. More details will follow by email.

A huge thank you to you for making Oak Youth part of your lock down journey over the past academic year, especially taking time to grow your knowledge and faith in Jesus.
If you have any questions about anything we have discussed over the past term during our Youth Alpha series please get in touch or post them in the Oak Youth Whatsapp we'd love to chat!

Here is a passage from Philippians that I will be praying for you. Why not have a read and pray for someone in oak youth or someone you feel prompted to pray for.

Pillipians 1:3-6
