Hi. We hope you enjoy catching up!
Welcome and thank you for joining us. If this is your first time at The Oak, hello, we hope you enjoy our time together today.
Our plan today is to start by worshiping together with one of our worship leaders (song words will be on-screen). After that, there'll be a time of prayer and news, followed by a short talk.
There are materials on this page for our 0-3's (The Nest), Preschool to Year 6 (Treehouse) and Year 7+ (Oak Youth) to help the whole family grow together.
In response to Andrew's talk today, we're going to sing a song that's new to us here at The Oak - 'You died for me' by Sam & Rebecca Cox. If you'd like to take a listen before we get started this morning, please click here.
Happy Sunday, see you at 10.30am!

The NestGod Made Me Week 5
0-3's
This term we are learning about how God created us and how we have amazing bodies that can do so many things. This week we will be learning about our sense of smell.
Verse ‘I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.’ Psalm 139v14
Book God knows all about me by Claire Page and God loves little me by Rebecca Elliott (see links here). Tamsin, one of our Nest team, and two very special helpers have also recorded a brilliant video of one of this term’s books using Makaton signs (see the video here).
Songs Deep, deep, deep - Jesus loves me - Great big God - Guess what, God loves you - Jump around (see the videos here) - God made my head, shoulders, knees and toes (lyrics below, sing the first line however you’d like to and then into the normal tune).
God made my… Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes And eyes and ears and mouth and nose Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toesActivity 1 Talk about how God made our sense of smell. Then play ‘can you guess the smell’ game? Put different items in boxes and let your child smell without looking to see if they can guess what they are. For example: peeled orange, ripe banana, cheesy crisps, fresh bread etc.
Activity 2 Make some scented playdough to play with. We have found a recipe for orange and lemon playdough but there are lots of examples of scented playdough online so feel free to choose your own (see link here). As you play talk to your child about how it smells and remind them that God made us able to smell.
TreehouseHandling Big Emotions - Sadness
Preschool - Year 6
Welcome back to Treehouse and our final session of Handling Big Emotions.
This week we are ending with Sadness, and we will be looking at the story of Job.
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, sadness, crying, or pain. All the old ways are gone. Revelation 21:4
WORSHIP: We will keep the same songs each week during this series, but please head to the songs and stories section for more.
ACTIVITIES:
1) Story board – create a story board, splitting up the video into sections and mapping out what happened to Job.
2) Make paper plate emotions to talk about the different emotions Job went through - similar to those used in the video or create your own.
3) Praying in Sad times, oil and water prayers. Flame Creative Children's Ministry has a lovely activity involving paint, oil and water - check it out here

Year 7+
It’s ‘dress up Sunday’! No pens & paper this week, we’re going all out silliness! You will need a silly hat, wig or outfit to wear throughout the session. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
The aim of this weeks session is to see how David remained true to the desire to do God's will – not always getting it right, but recognising his mistakes and coming back under God's will.
Read: 2 Samuel 6 & 20 - which verse speaks so you the most & why?
Worship: can you learn the dances?
Undignified and Deep Cries out
Prayer: thank you Jesus that when we confess our sins, turning away from the things that hurt you, you are faithful to forgive & forget our sins as far is the east from the west. Amen.
Can’t wait to be together with you all again on Sunday evening. Don’t forget your wig, it’s going to be epic!
